This week @sophie-w and I have been tidying up our code that supports Wayland protocols and @raof has been managing the Ubuntu release of Mir 0.30.0.
-
@raof solved a nasty bug caused by glm changing default constructed matrices from unit matrices to all zeros. This affected bionic-proposed and Debian sid. (@mariogrip tells us that Mir builds and works on Debian sid with this fix.)
-
@sophie-w has been mostly focussed on splitting out the various parts of the implementation to enable work to start on supporting xdg-shell stable.
-
I’ve been fixing bugs in our experimental support for the unstable xdg-shell v6 which is now at the point where we are considering enabling it by default. I’ve also written a couple of discussion posts:
Mir 0.30.0
This has, somewhat later than anticipated, reached 18.04 bionic. (Unfortunately, as I write, bionic cannot be recommended as there mismatched updates to the graphics stack.)
Mir 0.30.0 is available as follows:
- On Fedora 26, 26 and rawhide:
$ sudo dnf --refresh -install mir-demos
- On Ubuntu 18.04
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install mir-demos
- On Ubuntu 16.04 and 17.10
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mir-team/release
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install mir-demos
- As a snap
$ snap install mir-kiosk --channel=beta
