"No Bluetooth found"

Hi, I’m new to Linux and have a Dell XPS-13-9370 with 64-bit Intel® Core™ i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz × 8 and Intel® UHD Graphics 620 (Kabylake GT2) running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS and Gnome 3.28.2.
I always install the offered updates but Bluetooth has recently stopped working. The error message in Settings is, “No Bluetooth found. Plug in a dongle to use Bluetooth.” The laptop has Bluetooth hardware and I’m using a mouse with a Bluetooth dongle, so neither statement makes sense!
Dell don’t support Ubuntu, even though I bought with it pre-installed. Furthermore, their on-line diagnostics only work via Windows!
Can anyone offer any help to this computing novice?
Thanks in anticipation,
Mike
