This week @alan_g started designing a Wayland protocol extension API for MirAL. Protocol extensions are important in creating a feature-rich and accessible Wayland desktop. While Mir implements some common extensions, shells will want to add their own. This API will allow them to do that in a safe and stable way.
I have packaged My MATE Panel Wayland port into a snap. There’s a few kinks to work out before it’s published, but soon it will be a lot easier to test out the prototype MATE-on-Wayland session.
@RAOF has been working on WLCS, and the mir-test-tools snap has been released to the stable channel.
