Cursor theme discussion

1,2,3,5 are all good but I think if we could have consistency with the spinner on the browsers and and any other app that uses a spinner to indicate loading/waiting.

I like I and V the mostā€¦ Great sharp corsur.

Wow, did not expect that :open_mouth: Iā€™ve made a few others that I didnā€™t include because I liked the Canonical stuff so much, so this one just barely made it.
Iā€™ve uploaded a slower version to Github. Perhaps change the color too?

Should I try smaller versions or are they simply too windowish?

If itā€™s the process-working-symbolic.svg, then yes. The only thing is that this is a single image (static svg) that is rotated. This might be changeable (@godlyranchdressing?), but for now this means that, cursor idea III and V canā€™t be used, but I and II are easy as pie.

Indeed +1. In I and II Iā€™m simply rotating the image, so just adding a shadow would mean that it would be spinning too and that would look weird. If this design is something we want to use, Iā€™ll redo it and be less lazy

Why should it be a circle ? It will be stylish even if we using the flowing bars

Firefox Quantum has moved from spinner to pulsating dot for tabs. It looks good as well.

Thereā€™s a bunch of new cursors to try out. I think a few of them came out quite nice :computer_mouse:
Iā€™ve kept the old once (and the silly names for reference) and renamed to folders, so remove the old folders to avoid a mess - sorry.

How do you test the busy cursor? I launch Libre Writer or Firefox, but it only takes a second for it to open (what a think to complain about :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: )

Let me know what you think!

1 and 3 are nice. 11 Would be my choice if the wave didnā€™t disappear

#11 it disappears on purpose

Doh! I was so busy crafting new ones I forgot to add the shadow we discussed for #1

The example image above gives a poor impression of what they look like, but I was lazy (again). I should have created gifs of them all.

It does! Although the colors might not be the best choice.

Iā€™ve also created a version without the gray ring, but I think the ring brings it nicely together rather than dots floating.

Any tricks?

just by way you have describes and tweak tool. then open as many things as i can to observe the be behaviour

Iā€™m finding that the busy cursor icons may be a tad big .
Also they dont work the same everywhere .
Also Also could we try it out on Adwaita cursor or a dark cursor please ?

Which one? Some are 32px and others 48px for no particular reason, so yes some might be too large.
Someone once said size doesnā€™t matter :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Scalling the icon is no biggie, unless it becomes indistinct / unclear when scaled down.

BTW, you can edit your post (like you just did) and multi quote, so you donā€™t end up with ten posts in a row.

I think all should be the same size as number 4. In my opinion is the perfect size :sunglasses:

@madsrh what about a ppa for this?
It would be great to have this resized or updated automatically when any changes are committed

I love the orange bouncing ball
