Connection to Google Drive is Very Slow

Hello,

I recently configured my Ubuntu 18.04 to connect to my Google Drive using the Online Accounts in settings. I noticed that it takes 30-60 seconds to move between directories and when I opened a PDF, it had to download the PDF first. Is this normal behavior? Does it not work like DropBox where it syncs the files and directories.
